Lead — Shipping

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. (HMC), is seeking an experienced Shipping Lead who will (under the direct supervision of the Shipping Supervisor) manage the packaging, loading, and shipping of Hewescraft boats and marine products throughout North America.  This individual will collaborate with HMC Production, Hewescraft dealers, and third-party trucking companies to deliver the Pacific Northwest’s best-selling welded boat safely and promptly.

The HMC Shipping Lead’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Ensure the safe handling, prep, packaging, and loading of boats, engines, trailers, and marine parts.
  • Oversee boat engine installation and testing.
  • Maintain required safety, cleanliness, and organization standards in all shipping department areas.
  • Set and maintain daily task lists and job-completion goals for shipping employees.
  • Train and guide shipping/loading employees.
  • Communicate shipping department expectations to staff, and lead by example.
  • Report regularly to the Shipping Supervisor on current activities and issues.
  • Complete other loading/shipping projects as assigned.

 

The following education, experience, and skills are required to be considered for the HMC Shipping Lead position:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of shipping/logistics experience
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Able to effectively deal with both internal and external customers in a calm, professional manner
  • Self-directed with excellent time-management skills
  • Able to multi-task in an environment of shifting priorities
  • Able to build and maintain excellent employee relationships and motivation

 

This Shipping Lead position is a full-time, Monday–Friday, hourly position.  Some overtime and weekend work may be required.  The wage range for this position depends on experience.  HMC offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid vacation and more.

Experienced Warehouse Worker

Hewes Marine Company Inc. is seeking a full-time Warehouse Worker to support Warehouse functions at our growing boat manufacturing company in Colville, WA.  This position performs receiving, stocking, inventory control, and other general warehouse functions.  This position reports directly to the Materials Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Unload freight from trucks and common carriers.
  • Complete receiving paperwork accurately.
  • Stock shelves.
  • Complete accurate inventory counts.
  • Distribute materials to appropriate departments.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, overhead cranes, vehicles, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Organize and clean warehouse.
  • Complete all assignments as directed and in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals as set by department Lead and/or Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years receiving, stocking, and distributing inventory
  • 3 years forklift operation experience (must pass written test and certify within 2 weeks of hire)
  • Experience driving non-CDL truck and trailer preferred
  • Experience operating overhead crane preferred
  • Ability to learn and become efficient at new task
  • Experience completing data entry on computers preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. with no restrictions

This position is a full-time, Monday–Friday, hourly position.  Standard hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30PM.  Overtime is required as needed.  Scheduled weekend work may be required.  The wage for the position depends on experience.  HMC offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as accrued paid leave, and paid holidays.
