Welding Position

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. is seeking a welder with proven skills in metal fabrication that include Aluminum, MIG & TIG welding. This position is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacturing products from engineered drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Position Requirements:

  • Desire experience in aluminum welding
  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques
  • Interpretation of mechanical drawings and sketches, including weld symbols
  • Working knowledge of fixturing
  • Working knowledge of set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
  • Conventional and precision measuring instruments
  • Welding equipment maintenance
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
  • Safety and Housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test

Compensation:

  • This position is a full-time, hourly position within Hewes Marine Company.
  • Work schedule Monday – Friday
  • Overtime and weekends on an as needed basis
  • Wage range D.O.E.

Customer Service Administrator I

Hewes Marine Company (HMC), the maker of Hewescraft boats, is seeking an individual who will (under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor) help strengthen the retail efforts of the Pacific Northwest’s #1 boat builder. Key responsibilities of this position are the shipping, tracking, and invoicing of all retail sales, forecasting and ordering of manufactured parts, as well as staging and photographing parts and accessories for online sales.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellent communication with customers and employees.
  • Answer customer questions about our products via phone and email.
  • Update and process online retail orders.
  • Ship purchased and manufactured parts in a timely manner.
  • Track orders to completion and expedite as needed.
  • Create and invoice orders in our ERP/POS system.
  • Order and track internal manufactured parts and accessories for retail inventory.
  • Forecast and manage sufficient inventory levels to support retail efforts.
  • Assist the Customer Service and Warranty departments as needed.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Customer Service Supervisor.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma / GED or equivalent
  • Self-directed with excellent time-management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multi-task in an environment of shifting priorities
  • Work well in a team environment with all levels of management
  • Must have customer service and retail sales experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Forklift certified (training available)
  • High regard for safety
  • Packaging and shipping experience desired

 

Compensation:

  • This position is a full-time, hourly position within Hewes Marine Company
  • Work schedule Monday – Friday
  • Some overtime and weekend work are required.
  • Starting wage is $17.00. $18.00 after 60 days. $19.00 after 1 year.

Shipping Supervisor

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. (HMC), is seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor who will (under the direct supervision of a Director/VP) manage the packaging, loading, and shipping of Hewescraft boats and marine products throughout North America.  This individual will collaborate with HMC Sales and Production departments to deliver the Pacific Northwest’s best-selling welded boat safely and promptly.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and oversee loading/shipping, employees, and drivers.
  • Set and communicate shipping department expectations to staff, hold staff accountable to these expectations, and lead by example.
  • Ensure the safe handling, prep, packaging, and loading of boats, engines, trailers, and marine parts.
  • Ensure the safe, on-time delivery of boat/motor/trailer packages throughout North America.
  • Manage ELD compliance for drivers and a small fleet of trucks.
  • Schedule and dispatch trucks and drivers to 30+ North American locations from Colville, WA.
  • Manage relationships with all third-party carriers to secure best rates and routes for boat delivery.
  • Act as liaison between HMC and Hewescraft boat dealers on matters of product delivery.
  • Plan and manage fleet scheduled maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversee boat engine installation and testing.
  • Participate as a member of HMC’s manager/supervisor strategic planning team.
  • Report regularly to Director/VP on shipping activities and issues.
  • Complete other loading/shipping projects as assigned.

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • Minimum five years of shipping/logistics experience
  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum two years of ELD admin experience (Omnitracs preferred)
  • Class-A CDL and current medical card
  • Able to effectively deal with both internal and external customers in a calm, professional manner
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Self-directed with excellent time-management skills
  • Able to multi-task in an environment of shifting priorities

 

Compensation:

  • This position is a full-time, salary position within Hewes Marine Company
  • Work schedule Monday – Friday
  • Some overtime and weekend work are required.
  • Salary range is DOE
  • Excellent Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, accrued paid leave, and a profit-sharing program.
