Welding Position

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. is seeking a welder with proven skills in metal fabrication that include Aluminum, MIG & TIG welding. This position is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacturing products from engineered drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Position Requirements:

  • Desire experience in aluminum welding
  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques
  • Interpretation of mechanical drawings and sketches, including weld symbols
  • Working knowledge of fixturing
  • Working knowledge of set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
  • Conventional and precision measuring instruments
  • Welding equipment maintenance
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
  • Safety and Housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test

Compensation:

  • This position is a full-time, hourly position within Hewes Marine Company.
  • Work schedule Monday – Friday
  • Overtime and weekends on an as needed basis

Supply Chain Administrator

Hewes Marine Company is looking for an individual to support the Supply Chain Department.  This individual will identify and resolve day-to-day challenges as well as work on various project.  This position will report directly to, and work closely with, the Materials Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Materials Manager as requested with Supply Chain functions
  • Cover day-to-day activity of Lead position(s) during absences
  • Communicate daily, verbally and written, relevant information to other groups
  • Work with key people in all HMC Departments to complete tasks
  • Identify and implement guidelines for tracking Supply Chain performance
  • Define project goals and deadlines with available information
  • Actively engage in Engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and implementation
  • Continuously review performance of all processes within the Materials groups, suggest modifications, and implement when approved
  • Actively seek to streamline all Material group interactions with other departments
  • Handle day-to-day challenges from identification to resolution
  • Actively engage in development and documentation of department policies

 

Required Skills, Education, Experience:

 

  • High School diploma and some higher education/job equivalent experience required
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Purchasing
  • Experience with ECR/ECO documentation, timing, and implementation
  • Experience coordinating with multiple groups in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience documenting processes and policies
  • Experience working well in a team environment with all levels of management
  • Solid communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

 

Compensation:

 

  • This position is a full-time, hourly position within Hewes Marine Company
  • Work schedule Monday – Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Finish Department Lead – Large Boats

Hewes Marine Company is looking for a motivated individual to lead production activities for large boats in our finish department. This individual will directly oversee a small crew of finish installers and assist in normal production activities as needed. This individual will also coordinate with Production Supervisors on several initiatives including scheduling, the creation, adaptation, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

 

This position reports directly to the Production Supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface professionally and effectively with other department leads and supervisors
  • Maintain a positive, fast paced, and production minded environment
  • Must be self-motivated and be proactive in identifying and resolving issues
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner and provide appropriate feedback to Supervisors
  • Proactively learn new skills and train team members on accessory items, electrical, water, and fuel systems and following the manufacturing flow and schedule
  • Coordinate with our Engineering Team regarding manufacturing issues, documentation changes, and troubleshooting
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, and other documentation
  • High regard for safety
  • Attention to detail and quality of work

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience desired: General carpentry, hand tools, DC and AC electrical installations, hose routing, chop/band saw cutting, and router cutting
  • Special consideration for commercial sewing experience including seats and canvas boat tops
  • Computer experience related to manufacturing systems and Microsoft Word and Excel desired
  • 2 years – manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 1-year of leadership experience desired

Shipping I

Hewes Marine Company Inc. is seeking a full-time, Shipping I laborer to work at our manufacturing facility in Colville, WA.  This position performs shipping and loading functions and operates material handling equipment such as forklift and overhead crane.  This position reports directly to the Shipping Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Shipping preparation and loading of boats and other marine products
  • Warehouse/worksite and equipment cleaning and organization
  • Completion of assigned tasks individually and as part of the Shipping/Loading team
  • Achievement of all safety, quality, and productivity goals as set by department Lead and/or Supervisor

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Successful completion of forklift operation certification within 14 days of hire
  • Hand and pneumatic tool experience
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. with no restrictions

Compensation:

  • Full-time, hourly position
  • Work schedule Monday–Friday
  • Overtime and weekend work as required
  • Starting wage for this position is $15 per hour, increasing to $16 per hour after 60 days.

Experienced Painter

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Painter. This position will support the paint department.  It is fast paced and requires someone that is production oriented.  This position is hourly and will report to the Production Supervisor’s team.

  • Prepping surfaces for painting, monitoring booth operations, and identifying flaws
  • Applying primer and finish coats using spray equipment
  • Touch-up paint flaws and damaged areas

Maintenance Mechanic

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. is looking for an individual to assist with the day-to-day activities for maintenance within the company.  Key areas of responsibility include repair and preventative maintenance for capital equipment, production tools, facilities, and offices.  This position reports directly to the lead or Facilities Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • Desire minimum of 5 years’ experience in general maintenance work.
  • Strong consideration for individuals with background in manufacturing, with experience servicing large manufacturing equipment, power tools, fixtures, and jigs.
  • Also seeking experience with facilities maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, etc.
  • Must have the ability to create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills, be willing to work odd hours, weekend and holidays if needed to minimize impact to production and have exceptional commitment to safety.

 

Compensation:

 

  • This position is a full-time within Hewes Marine Company
  • Work schedule Monday – Friday
  • Some overtime and weekend work are required.
  • Wage range is $18.50 – $20.50 per hour.

Warehouse Worker I

Hewes Marine Company Inc. is seeking a full-time, Warehouse I laborer to work in our growing boat manufacturing company in Colville, WA.  This position performs receiving, stocking, inventory, and other general warehouse duties.  This position reports directly to the Materials Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Unload freight from trucks and common carriers.
  • Complete receiving paperwork accurately.
  • Stock shelves.
  • Complete accurate inventory counts.
  • Distribute materials to appropriate departments.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, overhead cranes, non-CDL trucks and trailers, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Organize and clean warehouse.
  • Complete all assignments as directed and in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals as set by department Lead and/or Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Six months of experience in retail, warehouse, customer service, stock keeping, or shipping/receiving
  • Six months of experience operating material-handling equipment
  • Successful completion of forklift operation certification within 14 days of hire
  • Hand and pneumatic tool experience
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. with no restrictions

Compensation:
