At this year’s Seattle Boat Show, fishing and fishing boats took center stage as a key part of the conversation about recreational boating. George Harris, President and CEO of the Northwest Marine Trade Association (the organization that produces the Seattle Boat Show, the West Coast’s largest boating event), shared his perspective in a special video interview from the show floor.
In the video, Harris discusses how fishing remains a central pillar of the event and reflects on the importance of boats that are designed with anglers in mind. He specifically highlights the Hewescraft 290 Adventure, noting its relevance to today’s boaters and anglers who expect rugged performance, thoughtful design, and real-world capability. The Seattle Boat Show, held annually with hundreds of boats and educational opportunities, continues through February 7, 2026, offering attendees a chance to learn, compare, and connect with manufacturers, dealers, and fellow enthusiasts.
